Wow, what a powerful week we had in the weight room. Averaged 50 athletes a day Monday-Friday. Again the energy was mindboggling. I loved it. Amidst all the chaos of plates banging and music thumping, there was a kid that quietly plugged in his ipod ear pieces and went to work. Not much talk, just on a mission, believe in the process, type work.
When I first got here, this kid wasn't sure about what it took, the mindset, the physicality that was needed to be successful in football, it was a struggle to get him to believe he had been blessed enough to be an impact player. Last season was a break out season for him. He led our team in sacks, tackles for losses and had two interceptions from his outside linebacker position, he also played a solid tight end. I really felt that his emergence was a big part of our defense being rated in the top 3 in the county. The challenge to him from day one was to get more physical, great athletic ability at 6'2", 180lbs, but needed to add some strength and become more aggressive between the whistles. Well if Quentin Woods, continues to work like he is working, and continues to display the leadership and the positive attitude and maturity he has right now, I can't wait to see him play his Senior season. Quentin Woods is our Player of the Week. Great Week, keep grinding to be great.
