Greene Bounces Back

Posted Monday, September 16, 2013 by Brandon Overdorff

The Red Dragons captured their first victory of the year Friday, and there were some great performances. Will Syster played well on the O and D lines, Gavin Ewing had a solid game on both sides of the ball, Grant Syster rushed for 172 yds and played very solid defense. Zach Bartlebaugh rushed for 62 yds and a TD, but it is speedy Senior Todd Greene, who gets this weeks award.
Last week against Blairsville, Todd Greene quite simply did not play very well, mentally or physically. The coaching staff challenged him to regain his composure and play football to his potential against Blacklick Valley. Todd responded with 179 yards of total offense, including 3 receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. He also added several nice runs, and a 76 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. We look forward to Todd being a force on Offense and Defense the rest of the season, and supplying us with some Senior leadership. For his effort in a great bounce back performance, Todd Greene is this week's Player of the Week.
