Sam Stanford was a kid that caught my attention shortly after I was hired in mid June of last year. It wasn't for his stature, strength or speed. Sam just had a burning interest in everything football. It was daily that he would ask me a question on this or that, ask for a DVD of drills etc., then he would come to workouts and it was obvious he had watched and listened and learned. Thats the kind of drive you need to possess if your going to improve your game, dream it, eat it, sleep it, do it. As a freshman his season was plagued by injuries that kept him out of practices and games, and it also slowed his determination and affected his focus. Since, He has been in the weight room and has packed on some needed muscle and strength, but most of all I hope he's football crazy again. A 5 day work week this past week, was a good place to start. For that he is our Player of the Week. Good solid week Sammy, lets keep it going.
