Poll Answer: Longest Win Streak

The answer to last months poll was 18 games. The Streak as it became known as occured between the 1989 and 1990 season. The Red Dragons under the direction of Head Coach Ed Dalton started the 89 season 2-2, then rattled off 5 straight dominatiing victories to end the season 7-2, barely missing the playoffs and a run at a D6 title. In the record setting season of 1990, the Dalton Gang went 13-0, capturing an Appalachian Conference and D6 AA title, before falling to Canevin Cathlic in the State Semifinal Game. A side note in the history of the Streak was that then and current Assistant Coach and Art Teacher Steve Woodrow began painting the Opponents and Scores of Games on the concrete Wall outside the PL locker room. Coach Dalton asked Woodrow what he was doing, Woodrow replied no one is going to beat us. The Streak continued to be documented for weeks to come by Woodrow and the mural stood for years afterwards, before it was eventually painted over. If anyone has pictures of that mural, please feel free to post it here on this site. We have a great football history at PL, always good to look back and remember what we can accomplish here, if we are ALL IN.
